Let Quirk make all your wishes come true this Christmas...

... with a brand new adaptation of Five Children & It by E. Nesbit!  Yes, this festive season the whole family can join the Psammead and five(ish) children for a fresh, modern take on an absolute classic.

It's going to be a heartwarming and hilarious festive adventure all about wishes. Wishes that are granted by an anarchic fairy-monster-thing with eyes on stalks. Wishes that last for only one day and disappear at sunset. The lucky children who find the Psammead can wish for anything! But as the old saying goes, they might need to be careful what they wish for.

Putting children's voices at the heart!

A Quirk show is often a child's first experience of live theatre and that is a responsibility that we take very seriously indeed. Children have always been at the very heart of what we do, so this year we decided to take that one step further, inviting primary aged children and community group participants to help us make it!

This is the first time we have co-created a show with kids and it has been such a brilliant experience! Through a series of hands on workshops across Exeter and North Devon, children have become designers, writers, directors, devisers and composers, getting involved in all aspects of the creation of the show.

We brought the best South West artists into schools to share their wisdom, demystify creative careers and inspire the children to create, in their classrooms, school halls and community centres. And the results have been just fantastic! From super hero costumes, to Psammead sounds, right through to the wishes themselves, children have been in charge!

We took all the amazing ideas, designs and compositions into the R&D room back in the summer, and have been beavering away ever since, turning this into our most hilarious, madcap festive adventure yet. Find out more about what we've been up to on our blog, or by signing up to our mailing list.

In fact, we have enjoyed co-creating this year so much that we intend to embed in our practice for years to come. So if you're a school or community group and you want to get involved, please drop us a line! We would love to hear from you
