THE PIGEON WHO NEVER GAVE UP

"Just keep flying, just keep flying... soon be home, soon be home."

High above the English channel a small bird battles against the wind. Visually beautiful, heartfelt and uproariously funny, Quirk Theatre return for their 19th Christmas show – and this one is set to be their best yet!

Mary tells the astonishing and true story of one very special local pigeon, who flew top secret messages home from France in World War 2.

Quirk are known for their inventive and innovative approach to live theatre, wowing audiences with their use of projection, puppetry, creative set design and original music. Essentially simple, beautifully effective and brilliant fun, Quirk Theatre deliver an exciting, engaging and magical experience for all.

A perfect Christmas treat for all the family!

Rhia & The Tree of Lights followed the journey of a British-Indian girl living on the Jurassic Coast who comes across a dusty old box whilst preparing for her last Diwali in her childhood home. She makes exciting discoveries about her Grandma, who lived a rich, colourful life as an Earth Scientist and storyteller of ancient Indian tales!

Exploring both ancestry and modern lives, climate change and complex rural worlds, Rhia celebrates cultures, family and the places we call home. A hilarious, heartwarming, epic adventure story for all ages, featuring vibrant original music, and Quirk’s trademark sense of the ridiculous!

It's Christmas Day and presents are great (obvs). But Alice is growing up and sometimes she feels that her family hasn’t noticed. And this year, to make matters worse, she’s been given a toy rabbit and she’s expected to love it!

Join Alice and the Velveteen Rabbit on a heart warming adventure as they explore what it means to love and be loved.A magical portrayal of growing up, moving on and not letting go by Quirk Theatre, full of heart, hilarity and a sprinkling of the miraculous.

We worked with 5 young, emerging photographers to create a community exhibition of people with their favourite toys. Check it out here!

Puffin Island

Nothing particularly out of the ordinary ever happens on Puffin Island, an unassuming little pile of rock just off the Devon coast. The puffins come and go each year, the islanders and mainlanders quarrel (about EVERYTHING) and then set aside their differences every year to celebrate the best day of the year – Puffin Day!

Everything carries on as it always has…

Until one bitterly cold Christmas Eve, a rather unexpected present washes up on the beach in a little boat – an orphaned baby boy.

When the puffins disappear in the dead of night and no one knows why, this boy has the power to put things right.

But where have the puffins gone? And will he manage to bring them home?

Quirk Theatre craft a wonderful story, their sets are beautiful, and the combination of music, puppetry and audience engagement keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. My daughter is six, and she was blown away. If you have smallies, look out for their future productions!

Lucy has always wanted to be a scientist. Every night, Lucy comes out to look at the stars and listen to the universe and stare at Brian. And not very much happens… until one starry night, she hears something.

Something from outer space.
