Katie Villa

Katie is a performer, director, theatre maker and dramaturg living and working in Exeter. After coming to the city to do her drama degree at Exeter Uni, she found that she couldn't bear to leave. She has toured widely with her own theatre company, Theatre Rush, and with her solo show, WILD, which is part of The Birth Project.

Katie has co written and directed the last 7 shows with Quirk Theatre, and has also directed with Scratchworks Theatre Company, Rosie Race & The Bike Shed Theatre.

Creative Director

Simon Hall

Simon trained at The Hub Theatre School in Cornwall and then toured the West Country with Miracle Theatre for the best part of a decade. He has co written and performed in all of the last eighteen shows.

Simon is also a carpenter and builds all of Quirk's sets!

Naomi Turner

Producer

Naomi is a freelance producer, theatre/film-maker. Naomi has worked at Exeter Phoenix programming the theatre and creating talent development opportunities for local artists. She has created award-winning short dance films as Co-Artistic Director of LeMoon, most recently 'Scapelands'; a BBC commission as part of the New Creatives scheme, which premiered on BBC4 during lockdown.

Fi Russell

Designer

Fi is a professional theatre designer with over 10 years experience, having designed over 100 shows. Fi joined the Quirk team to design set, costume and props for The Velveteen Rabbit (Quirk-2019). Fi has worked with Exeter Northcott, Le Navete Bete, Scratchworks and Theatre Alibi.

Hallow Foster

Assistant Producer

Hallow is a third-year Liberal Arts student at the University of Exeter. Their focus is on diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, especially for Queer, Disabled, and Neurodiverse people. They have a passion for theatre, especially anything innovative or that pushes the boundaries.

Jonny Wharton

Composer

Jonny is a multi instrumentalist, musician and composer based in Bristol. He graduated Brunel University in 2006 with a BA in Creative Music Technology. He began playing and producing with live electronic band Concrete Disco in 2010 and has been writing under the names Jonny Falls Over and Jung Sun since the mid-noughties.​

With a wide range of expertise in production, composition and performance (including guitars, piano/keys, drums/percussion, bass and vocals) Jonny works in various fields and genres within music and pays his skills and passion forward in teaching a new generation of musicians.
